The GreenLife Soft Grip pots and pans are designed for reduced-fat and toxin-free cooking and are a healthy cookware alternative to the traditional non stick surfaces of Teflon (containing PTFE). Here’s what to know about this GreenLife ceramic cookware with its nonstick design.

The GreenLife ceramic cookware in the Soft Grip design is best for cooking on smooth glass or ceramic cooktops.

The exterior of these Green Life pots and pans is smooth, making them one of the best for use on glass cooktops.

You can use them on any electric stovetop or gas range (but avoid high flame settings). They’re not for induction cooking, as they don’t have a magnetic type of metal base. You’ll find pots and pans with this metal base in my article on ceramic cookware for induction cooking.

The Soft Grip pans are lightweight and super easy to clean inside and out because of the ThermolonTM ceramic coating.

They display optimal heat distribution.

Soft grip healthy feature: Handles are rivet free — a positive feature for hygiene and cleaning.

GreenLife pots and pans features

What’s to love about GreenLife cookware? One is GreenLife’s eco friendly stance. The company claims to use recycled aluminum, emit 60% less CO2, and use natural sand in the making of these nonstick cookware.

Another is the ‘healthy’ ceramic nonstick approach. The manufacturer claims this product contains no PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, PFAS, lead, or cadmium. US regulations stipulate that cookware products adhere to strict guidelines. My article about the safety of ceramic non stick cookware explains more about these additives and the regulations covering the safety of cookware.

The GreenLife pans in the Soft Grip design

The design involves an aluminum reinforced body with soft grip handles for comfort and the Thermolon technology for nonstick cooking and super easy cleanup.

It’s a stylish design and rates high in GreenLife cookware reviews. The fresh turquoise color in the Soft Grip 16pc is a popular choice.

The thick aluminum base allows for even and quick heat distribution and less energy used when cooking.

Stay cool handles with comfy grip: The phenolic (Bakelite) handles are stay-cool and feel comfortable when handling. But, place them away from the heated cooking element to avoid tarnishing them. Because these are a type of plastic, they are not suited to high heat.

Interior: Thermolon ceramic coating lines the interior giving the cookware its nonstick advantages. The rivets are also coated which allows for ease of cleaning and hygiene.

Exterior finish: A Thermolon coating on the exterior makes for a smooth finish and super easy cleaning and comes in a variety of popular colors, e.g., black, yellow, and turquoise.

Tip: For gas burners, use the appropriate flame height for the pan to avoid the open flame tarnishing the beautiful color of the exterior or the look and feel of the handles.

Clear view lids: Glass lids mean you can view the cooking process without lifting the lid.

Slow oven use: Oven safe to 350ºF only. Not for roasting or baking (see my article on recommended bakeware).

GreenLife Soft Grip pros and cons

This GreenLife Soft Grip set has a cream colored Thermolon interior that is super easy to clean. I wrote a guide on how ceramic cookware is made that references the crafting of Thermolon. The manufacturer covers defects in material or workmanship in a limited lifetime warranty.

  • Watch flame and heat settings to avoid scorching the plastic handles
  • Not for use in the oven above 350 ºF

Price

This GreenLife cookware set is great for the price given the selection of pots and pans in varying sizes and with lids + the four non-scratch utensils included.

Care and Cleaning

Easy to clean inside and out – no scourers! Hand washing is recommended although the set is dishwasher safe. Why? Dishwashers can cause chips and other wear and tear of interior and exterior non-stick surfaces of the set because of knocks and harsh detergents.

The features of Thermolon® on both interior and exterior surfaces makes it is super easy to clean.

Best to store without stacking or use pan protectors to increase the longevity of the pots and pans. Nylon, silicone, or wooden utensils are a must.

Use on low to moderate heat only. Best to use high smoke point oils so as not to stain/ruin the ceramic surface.

Final thoughts

This set is good pick for the price in the ceramic nonstick range, see my guide to buying cookware, given its stylish design and the number and selection of pieces.

  1. Hi,
We have used these pans for happily for over 6 months. We hand wash and use only the coated utensils so that the ceramic has remained in excellent condition.

A few months ago I began to notice mysterious yellow staining on my dishcloths and drying towels which I could not get out despite repeated treatments. Then my white Rubbermaid sink mat acquired matching yellow stains. Only today when hand-drying our GreenLife pans did I notice that the underneath side of the pretty turquoise handles were all turning yellow!! The exact same color of the yellow stain I had been fighting for several months! 🙁 I assume this was caused by heat from other burners during cooking!! I’ve checked all of the small pans we scramble eggs in each morning–and yep, each one is tinged with a yellow stain that rubs off when touched! 🙁
I am contacting the company today. What a shame!! 🙁

    • Hi Beverly! This is something to watch I’m afraid. The soft grip handles are not designed for high heat. They are a type of plastic that while providing comfort in handling (they are soft to touch and stay cool), care is needed to avoid placing them in the proximity of high heat and open flames of a gas burner, just like you wouldn’t put them in an oven above 350F. My advice with plastic handles, when cooking, is to keep the flame at an appropriate height for the pan being used. You can read more on what to look for your style of cooking in my guide on choosing cookware.
